A Day Out at the Shopping Centre

Sarah woke up early on Saturday morning and decided to visit the local shopping centre.

She had a list of things she needed to buy, including new shoes and a birthday present for her friend.

The shopping centre was about fifteen minutes away by bus.

When she arrived, the car park was already quite busy with families and couples.

She walked through the large automatic doors and felt the warm air inside.

The shopping centre had three floors and hundreds of different shops.

Sarah took the escalator up to the first floor to look for a shoe shop.

She found a nice shoe shop near the lift and went inside.

A friendly shop assistant came over and asked if she needed any help.

Sarah tried on three different pairs of trainers before choosing a comfortable blue pair.

She paid for the shoes at the till and put them in her shopping bag.

Next, she needed to find a gift for her friend Emma, who loved books.

There was a large bookshop on the ground floor with a wide selection of novels.

Sarah spent about twenty minutes looking at the shelves before finding a book she thought Emma would enjoy.

She also picked up a small greetings card to go with the present.

After shopping, Sarah felt a little hungry, so she decided to visit the food court.

The food court was on the top floor and had many different types of food to choose from.

She chose a jacket potato with cheese and a cup of tea.

She sat by the window and watched the people walking around below.

It was a cloudy day outside, but inside the shopping centre it was bright and busy.

After her lunch, Sarah remembered that she also needed some shampoo from the chemist.

The chemist was easy to find because there was a large sign above the entrance.

She bought the shampoo and some hand cream as well.

On her way back through the shopping centre, she noticed a sale sign in a clothes shop.

She went in and found a lovely green jumper that was half price.

Sarah decided to buy the jumper because it was a real bargain.

By three o'clock in the afternoon, her bags were full and her feet were tired.

She made her way back to the bus stop outside the main entrance.

The bus arrived after just a few minutes, and she sat down with a sigh of relief.

Sarah felt happy with her day out and looked forward to giving Emma her birthday present.
