The Wind and the Reed

The wind is very strong today.

It blows hard through the trees.

Big trees move a lot in the wind.

Some big trees break in a very strong wind.

It is sad when a big tree falls down.

Big trees are strong, but the wind can be stronger.

Near the water, there are small plants called reeds.

Reeds are very thin and light.

The wind blows the reeds too.

But the reeds do not break.

They just move gently in the wind.

The reeds bend, and then they go back up.

Sometimes being small and soft is good.

The reed stays safe because it can bend.

This is a lesson from nature.
